The promoters, Dr. N. N. Asokan and Dr. Sajesh Asokan, have formed a Private Limited Company along with friends and relatives to set up the Kakkanad Medical Centre. The Muvattupuzha Medical Centre, owned by the promoters will also be brought into this venture. The past experience of the promoters in establishing and running a successful hospital is another crucial factor that will help the success of the Kakkanad Medical Centre. The total project cost is estimated at Rs. 10 crores, of which the first phase is estimated to cost around 7 crores and remaining in second phase.

The Kakkanad Medical Centre will have attached to it a full-fledged Nursing School which will offer GNM Nursing courses. The Nursing School will be affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, and recognized by the Indian Medical Council and the All India Nursing Council. The facilities at the Hospital and Nursing School will be state-of-the-art with fully networked and computerised operations and tele-conferencing aids.
The Kakkanad Medical Centre is to be based at Kakkanad. Kochi’s fastest growing suburb. Kakkanad is the ideal place for such a multi-speciality hospital, keeping in view the burgeoning population and the massive investments being made in the industrial sector. A Multi-speciality 200 bed hospital at Kakkanad, with super-speciality departments in Cardiology, Nephrology, Neurology & Neuro surgery, Gastroentrology & Urology apart from all other medical disciplines.
It also envisages setting up of a Nursing Institute and Geriatric Nursing Home.
A 2 stage process with a multi-speciality 100 bed hospital in the 1st stage. With all basic medical facilities like General Medicine, Surgery, Obstertics,
Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Orthopedics and Trauma, Non-invasive Cardiology, Neonatology,
Emergency Care Units, Super Speciality Consultations and a nursing college.
Phase 2 will up-grade the hospital to a 200 bed hospital that will include the remaining
fields to provide full fledged super speciality
